Léto 2026: krátké ohlédnutí za autorskou a badatelskou činností | Summer 2026: Brief Reflections on My Writing and Research

Zdravím vás ze své knihovny, obklopena knihami, a přeji vám inspirativní začátek letního období. Dovolte mi, abych se v následujících řádcích ohlédla za svou dosavadní autorskou a badatelskou činností v letošním roce.

V květnu letošního roku spatřila světlo světa má první odborná monografie s názvem Vybraná neogotická sakrální architektura v jižních Čechách. Uměleckohistorický průvodce. Tato publikace představuje vyvrcholení mého dlouhodobého akademického výzkumu, který se zaměřuje na architektonické dědictví jihočeského regionu v období 19. a počátku 20. století. Kniha, doprovázená bohatým vizuálním materiálem, systematicky mapuje a kontextualizuje vybrané sakrální stavby, jež zásadním způsobem formovaly a dodnes dotvářejí jedinečný ráz jihočeské krajiny. Jedním z hlavních bodů mého letošního autorského programu bude veřejná přednáška spojená se slavnostním představením knihy, která se uskuteční v září 2026. V rámci přednášky vás provedu architektonickým dědictvím jižních Čech skrze optiku nově pořízených fotografií, exkluzivních obrazových materiálů a syntézy dlouholetého bádání. Neogotiku představím nejen jako architektonický styl, ale jako komplexní kulturní fenomén historismu a zasadím vznik jednotlivých památek do širších společenských souvislostí. Součástí setkání bude také autorské čtení a prostor pro diskuzi. Kniha bude na místě samozřejmě k dispozici. Vzhledem k mimořádnému čtenářskému ohlasu se v současné době připravuje dotisk. Greetings from my library, surrounded by books, and may I wish you an inspiring start to the summer season. Allow me, in the following lines, to reflect on my creative and scholarly work thus far this year.

In May of this year, my first academic monograph, entitled Selected Neo-Gothic Sacred Architecture in South Bohemia. Art Historical Guide, was published. This publication represents the culmination of my long-term academic research, focusing on the architectural heritage of the South Bohemian region during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Accompanied by extensive visual material, the book systematically documents and contextualises selected sacred buildings that have profoundly shaped and continue to enrich the distinctive character of the South Bohemian landscape. One of the highlights of my programme of events this year will be a public lecture accompanied by the ceremonial presentation of the book, scheduled for September 2026. During the lecture, I will guide you through the architectural heritage of South Bohemia through the lens of newly captured photographs, exclusive visual materials, and a synthesis of many years of research. I will present Neo-Gothic architecture not merely as an architectural style, but as a complex cultural phenomenon of Historicism, placing the creation of individual monuments within their broader social and historical contexts. The event will also include an author reading and an opportunity for discussion. The book will, of course, be available for purchase at the venue. Owing to the exceptional response from readers, a reprint of the publication is currently in preparation.
